101 Ways to Transform Your Life by Dr. Wayne Dyer

Maintaining inner peace is important for everything that I do.  It is important for my health. It is important for my relationships (including my long partnership with my wife of close to forty years).  And, it is important for my vocational success. Everything in life goes better when we are able to maintain a sense of inner peace. We see better. We hear better. And, we appreciate better all that life serves up to us. For me, inner peace is so important that that it … [Read more...]

Steve Job’s Legacy of Consistent Excellence

The death of Steve Jobs has resulted in an outpouring of tributes - in traditional media, in social media, and at Apple stores - that speaks volumes for a man who is destined to go down as one of the all-time great business leaders in the world. Not just in recent times, but in all time! Job's successes (and failures) have been well chronicled. Two companies where he was the driving force - Apple and Pixtar - changed the face of their respective industries. In fact, Apple … [Read more...]

Byron Katie, You Can Change Your Story

I have long been a big believer that the stories we tell ourselves can either empower us, or disable us (that notion was one of my earliest blog postings on this site). After spending a weekend at nearby Kripalu Center (Lenox, MA) learning from the fabulous Byron Katie, I am an even bigger believer. For over twenty-five years, Byron Katie has been teaching people to do the "work" and helping people to uncover stories that are disabling them. Having read her books, I … [Read more...]

Why I Love Cirque du Soleil

Yesterday, I took a respite from all the writing that I have been doing of late so that I could take my wife on a fun day trip to Boston (MA). We once lived in downtown Boston and we always enjoy going back and walking around Quincy Market, Newbury Street, and the Rowe's Wharf area. As an added bonus, we took in a performance by Cirque du Soleil of Quidam. Now, this was probably like my sixth visit to a Cirque performance. But, this visit nevertheless was, once again, … [Read more...]

Every New Year's, I choose a classic or two from among all the books I have read to reconnect with the wisdom of the book. You Gotta Dream Big

I love listening to the dreams and hopes of young children. Catch them before their dreams and hopes are trampled down by us "rational" adults and you will hear such wonderful dreams. Young children dream big! As we "mature," we are so often taught to be careful of dreaming big, less we live a life of regrets about what we didn't accomplish. But, what is the cost of living a life where we sub-optimized what is possible, whether in our personal life or in business? In … [Read more...]
